Bill Fawaz, MD

Bill Fawaz, MD, is the Associate Program Director, Field-Specific Advisor, and an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Boston University School of Medicine. He is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and fellowship-trained in cutaneous oncology.

 

Dr. Fawaz has received multiple honors and research grants throughout his career, including the Skin Cancer Foundation Research Grant, the Dr. Demierre Humanism in Medicine Award, and Boston University’s Teacher of the Year Award. He is widely published in peer-reviewed journals and is the author of several textbooks and book chapters.

 

With a long-standing interest in global health, Dr. Fawaz has been passionate about using the visual nature of dermatology to expand access to care. He has extensive experience in teledermatology through Boston Medical Center’s e-consult program and is currently leading a comprehensive research initiative focused on the benefits and limitations of teledermatology consultations. Following this experience, he founded DermHub to bring the same level of high-quality, first-tier dermatologic care to patients outside of a single institution.

Jag Bhawan, MD

Jag Bhawan, MD, is the Director of the International Dermatopathology Training Program, Teledermatology Program, and Vice-Chair of the Department of Dermatology at Boston University School of Medicine. He has board certifications in Anatomic Pathology, Dermatopathology, and Dermatology. Dr. Bhawan has published over 275 original articles, several book chapters and co-authored an interactive dermatopathology atlas online. He also serves on the editorial board of the American Journal of Dermatopathology and Dermatopathology. He is a 2006 recipient of the Walter Nickel Award for Excellence in Teaching of Dermatopathology & 2008 Founders Award given by the American Society of Dermatopathology. Most recently in 2015, he received a certificate of appreciation from the International League of Dermatological Societies.
